Elle a pour but de prot\u00e9ger les locataires contre les augmentations de loyer et l&rsquo;\u00e9viction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qui est un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Une personne qui habite la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 en tant que locataire avant 1940 et qui n\u2019a pas pay\u00e9 l\u2019argent cl\u00e9 devient un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9 de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Un locataire qui vivait dans la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 avant le 20 ao\u00fbt 1968 et le bail ne pr\u00e9cise pas que la loi sur la protection des locataires ne s\u2019applique pas \u00e0 lui et ne verse pas de cl\u00e9. S&rsquo;il est not\u00e9 que la loi sur la protection des locataires s&rsquo;applique \u00e0 elle, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un contrat de location \u00e0 toutes fins pratiques et n&rsquo;est pas un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9 qui a vers\u00e9 la cl\u00e9 au propri\u00e9taire et qui d\u00e9tient r\u00e9ellement la propri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9 qui a re\u00e7u le droit en vertu de dispositions l\u00e9gales, telles que le d\u00e9c\u00e8s d&rsquo;un locataire prot\u00e9g\u00e9 et ceux qui vivent avec lui dans l&rsquo;appartement et sont proches du premier degr\u00e9, tels que sa femme et ses enfants, sont alors d\u00e9finis comme des locataires prot\u00e9g\u00e9s soumis \u00e0 des restrictions l\u00e9gales.
